Ngawi Borewell Waqf Program Provides Sustainable Clean Water for Residents

The Ngawi Borewell Waqf Program has become a tangible solution to address the shortage of clean water, particularly during the dry season. The program was carried out in collaboration with Dompet Al-Qur’an Indonesia (DQ) to provide a sustainable and high-quality water supply for residents of Bringin Village.

Through the construction of a 90-meter-deep borewell, the availability of clean water in the village has significantly increased. The borewell greatly supports the community, most of whom work as farmers, in meeting their daily water needs. Water from the borewell is pumped and distributed to various facilities, including the nearest prayer room (musholla) and residents’ homes.

The borewell now serves as the main source of clean water for approximately 40 households. All funding gaps required for the drilling process were fully covered, ensuring the project was completed optimally and delivered maximum benefits to the community.

Beyond fulfilling basic clean water needs, the borewell waqf initiative has improved residents’ quality of life by providing easier and more sustainable access to water. It has also contributed to better environmental sanitation, reducing the risk of water-related diseases and enhancing community efficiency by minimizing the time previously spent searching for water.
