PRODUCTION PROFILE
The UV roofing assistance and chrysanthemum mother plant propagation training program was implemented to enhance productivity and improve the quality of chrysanthemum cultivation in Pasuruan Regency. The provision of UV roofing aims to help farmers create a more controlled growing environment while protecting crops from extreme weather conditions that may affect plant growth and flower quality.
A total of 40 rolls of UV plastic roofing with 14% UV value and 200-micron thickness were distributed to farmers. The installation of UV roofing is expected to maintain stable temperature and light intensity, enabling chrysanthemum plants to grow optimally and produce higher-quality flowers.
In addition to physical infrastructure support, the program also includes Mother Plant Propagation Training through tissue culture methods, along with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for propagation. The training is conducted annually to strengthen farmers’ capacity and skills in producing superior chrysanthemum seedlings independently and sustainably.
This initiative delivers tangible benefits to the community by increasing productivity and crop quality, boosting farmers’ income potential, and creating new employment opportunities in the horticulture sector. Through enhanced skills in tissue culture techniques, local farmers are expected to strengthen the competitiveness of chrysanthemum products at regional and national levels.
