PRODUCTION PROFILE
PT Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (PJUC) continues to demonstrate its commitment to renewable energy development through a concrete initiative in Mojokerto. The company has supported the construction of a small-scale hydropower plant (Pico Hydro) located behind the Islamic Center boarding school, utilizing the existing irrigation canal as a renewable energy source.
This project serves as both a sustainable energy solution and a learning platform for students and santri (Islamic boarding school students) to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy practices. It introduces them to the concept of micro-hydro power generation in a real-world setting, igniting curiosity and motivation to explore energy innovation further.
Beyond its technical contributions, the Pico Hydro plant becomes a vital educational resource that promotes awareness and understanding of green energy technologies. The goal is to inspire a generation of young learners, especially those in pesantren environments, to adopt and implement renewable energy concepts in their future endeavors. This initiative also aims to empower pesantren graduates with knowledge that can benefit their communities and contribute to Indonesia’s broader sustainability goals.
By supporting such initiatives, PJUC plays a pivotal role in advancing government efforts toward increased adoption of renewable energy while fostering innovation and environmental stewardship within educational institutions. This project stands as a testament to the potential of cross-sector collaboration in addressing both educational and ecological challenges.
